The Sr. Air Quality Engineer / Scientist (Environmental Permitting and Compliance) performs professional engineering work, leading and executing the compliance and permitting functions related to Air Quality Regulations and Compliance. This role involves reviewing processes and equipment, analyzing permit-related technical and regulatory issues, and communicating findings within Yorke, to clients, government agencies, and the public. The work is broad, challenging, and varies across projects, requiring effective communication, decision-making, and time management. The candidate may also perform other duties as assigned. This is a senior-level position, designated for complex and sensitive tasks within the field. The employee may be tasked with training and mentoring others and monitoring their work. The ideal candidate will have: 10-20+ years of experience in the Air Quality and/or Environmental industry in an engineering role, preferably in consulting; Experience leading Air Quality services, including: Process and equipment review; Air quality permitting under BAAQMD, SCAQMD, SJVAPCD, and other districts, including Title V Permitting; RECLAIM implementation and reporting; Annual Emissions Reporting; Air Dispersion Modeling; Air Quality Assessments, Data Analysis, and Emission Inventories; General Air Quality Compliance for facilities in CA. Additional qualifications include leadership skills, client and regulator relationship management, experience with regulatory agencies, onsite work experience, technical data handling, and a strong motivation to grow in the field. CA Regulatory / Compliance experience is required. Job requirements include a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields from an accredited college with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The candidate should be team-oriented, able to handle multiple projects, and possess excellent communication skills. Experience in conflict resolution, crisis management, and regulatory analysis is essential. Software skills in Microsoft Office are required, with Microsoft 365 applications a plus.
