The Impact You'll Make in this Role
- Providing Quality leadership and support to high priority rework operations in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) Vertical on-site at the customer in Mobile, Alabama.
- Being a Team member representing quality and assuring quality on product teams for assigned A&D products; Leading or contributing to quality improvement projects to reduce costs and reduce customer complaints
- Assessing and validating product rework operations of third-party staff; contributing by performing rework operations
- Assuring compliance to internal procedures and external customer requirements and regulations
- Leading CAPA, Risk Management, Quality Review Boards, Quality at the Source and Customer Quality Index initiatives and deployment
- Leading deployment of Statistical Process Control methodology to control Key Process Indicators
- Using statistical techniques to create sampling plans and execute data analysis
- Coaching on Environmental Control expectations and plans to reduce FOD
- Representing the customer, evaluating customer complaints and issues, samples and trends, and determining the necessary action plans
- Interacting with and supporting our plant manufacturing functions. Traveling to St. Paul and manufacturing locations as necessary
- Helping to drive and foster a quality environment and mindset throughout the business
- Working and interacting significantly with other cross functional team members (plant manufacturing, supply chain, lab, MTD, quality assurance, quality control, etc.).
- Participating in customer audits as needed to support the site Quality Manager and Quality Systems Engineer
Your Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science, engineering (mechanical engineer, chemical engineer, industrial engineer, statistics, etc) or technical discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) year of combined experience working in a product, quality, engineering, or six sigma in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience working in a product, quality, engineering, microbiology, and/or lab/technical function, with previous experience leading quality efforts in a manufacturing plant environment
- Strong demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to lead teams, drive change, and get things done
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Test method development and validation experience along with Statistical knowledge and practice (Gage R&R Studies, SPC and Process Capability, Sampling Plans, Designed Experiments, ANOVA and Regression, Process and Product Understanding (PPU), and Lean Manufacturing)
- The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and lead change drawing from your Six Sigma Experience, and/or New product development (NPI) project experience
- Experience deploying industry specific quality system requirements beyond ISO9001with knowledge of AS9100 and experience working in an aerospace regulated environment
- Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
