Space Systems Engineer

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Space Systems Engineer to support SDA's mission. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical oversight and leadership for development, testing, integration, and operations effort associated with the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
  • Assists with the design verification and works with the vendor team to implement solutions to support the SDA's mission.
  • Oversees the ground's technical baseline, identifying key architecture and system level trades, developing Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for new capabilities and coordinating them across the affected organizations.
  • Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program.
  • Develops enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams (i.e. Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry) and external stakeholders.
  • Prepares briefings for senior decision makers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM)
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with satellite and ground systems
  • Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction
  • Strong experience in requirements development and tracking
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • TS Clearance required. Must be able to obtain/maintain SCI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in STEM or related discipline
