Your Impact As a Solutions Engineer at Cisco, you will lead thought leadership and demonstrate the impact of Cisco solutions on business transformation. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers and partners in technology selection and implementation, ensuring they maximize their Cisco investments. Collaboration across sales, CX, and engineering teams will be key to delivering successful outcomes. You will also educate others about Cisco’s solutions, contribute to strategic planning, and stay updated on Cisco’s portfolio to provide tailored technical solutions.
Minimum Qualifications 6+ years experience in a customer-facing, field sales engineering role
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies such as routing, switching, collaboration, security, data center, or cloud solutions
Preferred Qualifications CCNP certification (or pursuing within 12 months); CCIE preferred
Knowledge of emerging technologies like SDN, IoT, AI/ML, or cybersecurity
Success in customer-facing roles like pre-sales, solutions engineering, or consulting
Ability to present complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
Understanding of customer challenges and aligning technology to business outcomes
Knowledge of competitive landscape and positioning Cisco solutions effectively
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with complex technical issues
Experience working with channel and ecosystem partners
Continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and Cisco products
Participation in technical training, boot camps, or community events
Experience with virtualization platforms like Cisco ViRL/CML, EVE-NG, GNS3
Proficiency with Python, RESTCONF, NETCONF, YANG Suite, Ansible, Terraform
Bachelor's in CS, IT, Engineering, or related; Master's preferred
