Overview CTG is seeking to fill an Software Engineer II (GoLang, Kafka, Devops) opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ.
Location: Phoenix, AZ Duration: 18 months
Tech Stack: Go; Kafka; RestAssured; REST Web Services; NoSQL; ELK Stack (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana); Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, SVN); Postgres / Postgresql; Couchbase; Jenkins; Docker; Kubernetes. Recent Amex Experience(At least 1 year) will be preferred.
Duties: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, test, and deploy RESTful APIs and microservices.
Utilize Kafka for stream processing and messaging.
Work with NoSQL databases such as Couchbase and PostgreSQL for data storage and retrieval.
Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Monitor and troubleshoot applications using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
Participate in code reviews, testing strategies (using RestAssured), and deployment processes.
Ensure software meets high standards for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Document system designs, workflows, and maintenance procedures.
Skills: Proficiency in REST Web Services and API development.
Hands-on experience with Golang, Kafka, RestAssured, and microservices architecture.
Strong experience with NoSQL databases like Couchbase and Postgres/PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with ELK Stack (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana) for logging and monitoring.
Source control tools: GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, SVN .
CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
Solid debugging and performance tuning skills.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of software engineering experience in a similar role.
At least 1 year of recent experience working with American Express (Amex) projects is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
