The Airborne Systems Business Area, part of our Defense Sector, has an exciting opportunity for a cleared Software Engineer to contribute to our projects at the Beavercreek, OH Office. Use your expertise to assist the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will encompass software design, hardware integration, laboratory experimentation, and field testing, leading to the deployment of cutting-edge solutions. Your Responsibilities Include: Designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical software for national defense and intelligence gathering systems. Participating in lab, ground, and flight testing to validate software functionalities. Documenting and communicating software solutions to cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. Staying current on the latest programming techniques and software technologies. Engaging in software design and code reviews to ensure quality product delivery and enhance skills. What You Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-4 years in software engineering or a related field. Additional experience may substitute for formal education. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python. Experience in systems integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting complex system issues. Familiarity with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration in various settings. A solid ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision. Capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment. A passion for learning and growing with new technologies. U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a top-secret security clearance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, especially SCRUM or Kanban. Experience with Atlassian tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket. Knowledge of simulation and test environments. Experience with Live and Virtual Constructive environments. Understanding of DoD Open Architectures such as OMS and SOSA. Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker or Podman. Experience with Kubernetes. Familiarity with offline environment development and deployment. Strong understanding of Linux systems. Experience in Unit Testing and CI/CD practices.
