Role: Software Engineer (C, Linux, Oracle) Location: Portland, OR ( Hybrid)
Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Experience: Strong hands-on experience in C, Linux, and Oracle; prior role as a senior developer or technical lead preferred. Technical Skills: Proficient in C, Linux, Oracle, RESTful APIs, and Git; solid understanding of Oracle schema design and integration. Communication & Availability: Effective communicator with the ability to work with global teams; open to onsite work and time zone collaboration.
Skills: • Strong hands-on experience on C, Linux & Oracle • Knowledge of networking concepts • RESTful API design & development • DevOps / GitHub Actions for CI/CD • Docker containers (Kubernetes is a plus) • Git, Swagger/Postman, Jira Boards • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Effective communication and teamwork • Ability to work independently and take initiative • Agile/Scrum development experience
Responsibilities • Incident Management and Response • Triage, debug, and resolve production issues quickly. • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and postmortems for major incidents. • Change Management and Deployments • Review and validate changes for impact and rollback planning. • Coordinate rollouts with minimal disruption. • Deployment of releases to the production environment. • Collaboration and Communication. • Work closely with offshore & onsite development teams, QA, and product teams. • Guide system design from a reliability and scalability perspective. • Document systems, processes, and playbooks thoroughly. • Monitoring, Alerting & Observability. • Design and maintain real-time monitoring dashboards and meaningful alerts. • Tune alert thresholds to avoid false positives and alert fatigue. • Enable full-stack observability (tracing, logging, metrics). • Development & Maintenance • Design and develop applications catering to multiple states. • Reduce Defect backlog and Tech debt for each PI. • Reduce turnaround time for issues reported in production. • Perform yearly DR activity to ensure seamless failover. • Upgrades & Enhancements. • Upgrade existing legacy OS tech stack to the latest. • Rewrite and refactor existing code to reduce security vulnerabilities • Audit & Reconciliation. • Perform Quarterly audit reviews and provide necessary information for external/DMV audit teams. • Reconcile EFT Total/Billing Summary on a daily and monthly basis.
