Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Engineer specializing in Body Control Software Verification. This role involves analyzing software requirements, designing and reviewing test cases, configuring test environments, and implementing test scripts. Your contributions will ensure the high quality and reliability of our software components.
Responsibilities Analyze software requirements to inform test strategy and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Design, author, and review detailed L2 test cases in TestRail, covering various testing types such as Smoke Test, Sanity Test, Feature Regression Test, and Stability Test.
Configure and integrate a wide array of test tools, including test management systems, defect tracking systems, test automation frameworks, measurement tools, and debuggers.
Develop, automate, and maintain robust test suites and scripts using frameworks like Gtest and Python, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
Oversee and perform automated test execution for nightly engineering and release builds, ensuring comprehensive logging and monitoring of results.
Identify, report, and analyze test failures to pinpoint defects, managing defect tracking and retesting activities to ensure timely resolution.
Generate detailed test execution reports summarizing pass/fail rates, execution progress, and test coverage metrics.
Conduct thorough analysis of test coverage metrics, such as requirement coverage, code coverage, and interface coverage, to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in testing.
Investigate test failures to determine the root cause, distinguishing between defects in the System Under Test, test environment issues, or problems within the test case/script itself.
Essential Skills Proven experience in software testing, particularly L2 ECU-level testing.
Experience with test automation framework development and script implementation using Python and CAPL.
Experience developing and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
At least 1 year of Body Control Software Verification experience.
Experience working with Agile framework.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Proficiency in software requirements, automotive testing, and test case design.
Work Environment
This role offers a flexible work schedule with the option to work from home on Fridays. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in the automotive industry.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.30 - $50.74/hr.
