In athenaCollector, we build technology solutions that automate Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). This Collector team is implementing the underlying medical back-office processes to automate and integrate the unique claims cycle requirements. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Urgent Care initiative. Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine are growing segments of the US healthcare landscape and are the focus of key initiatives within athenahealth’s core products, as patients and employers continue to seek out convenient and cost-effective options for quality care. Enabling these organizations to run more efficiently and effectively, especially in managing their relationships with employers, is driving product development requirements to strengthen athena's ability to meet the evolving needs of current and future clients in this important market. The Team: The athenaCollector product builds a critical part of the athenaOne platform, which helps our medical provider clients manage their business and revenue cycle (RCM), automating claims and billing for well over $200 billion in client revenue. Job Responsibilities Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the appropriate detail. Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software components and services in adherence with RPR policies on Security, performance, longevity, and Integration testing. Proactively identify and propose new, alternative technology to create scalable implementations and achieve results. Act as the subject matter expert for area of assignment. Advise and train members of the team to maximize overall productivity and effectiveness of the team. Work collaboratively across the Technology and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals. Typical Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in an Engineering role. Proficient in at least one modern programming language; relational databases, with modern UI frameworks helpful. Experience in Agile TDD environments, so any Agile experience or CI/CD concepts is helpful. Knowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, RESTful API, AWS, and broad technologies all are helpful. Hands-on experience in Java-based technologies and React Native APIs, ReactJS, JavaScript or ECMAScript (OOJS) and JSX, are very desirable. Prior experience with Spring Boot framework, PostgreSQL, AWS EC2, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Terraform or similar technology is desirable.
