Amazon Web Services, Inc. is offering a Software Dev Engineer III position. The job is located in East Palo Alto, California. The role involves driving the architecture and design of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using object-oriented design, distributed programming, Java, and C/C++. The candidate will gather business and functional requirements from external and/or internal customers and end-users, and translate requirements into technical specifications to build robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well between a range of complex systems. The position requires serving as a technical lead throughout the full development lifecycle, from scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance. The candidate will also provide design reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as integration, performance, and scalability. The role involves managing resources on multiple technical projects and ensuring schedules, milestones, and priorities are compatible with technology and business goals. The salary range is $206,315/year to $261,500/year. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
Basic Qualifications Position Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master's degree and one year of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): (1) providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle; and (2) designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems or services using: (i.) Object Oriented Design, (ii.) distributed programming, and (iii.) C#, C++, or Java.
