Role Overview:
Launch your engineering career with guidance from industry experts at Benesch. You'll be hands-on in collecting engineering data, creating models, conducting analyses, and preparing essential calculations and documentation. Proficiency in industry-specific software is a must. With every task, you'll receive guidance and feedback from experienced professionals, ensuring your growth and success. This exempt position may lead to a Designer I title, depending on state licensing requirements. Take this opportunity to lay a strong foundation for your engineering career!
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and assimilate data
- Perform basic analysis of project elements
- Create models, conduct analyses, and design calculations
- Draw design details under the direction of others
- Compute quantities and understand their relationship to pay items
- Organize calculations for design files following project standards
- Complete tasks on schedule and within budget
- Coordinate drafting of elements
- Perform field or site visits as needed
- Use computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis
- Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Become proficient in applicable CADD software
- Competent use of Microsoft Office products
- Basic writing skills for emails and project memos
- Comply with all project and company safety guidelines
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred
- Membership in professional and technical societies recommended
