Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Manager with 8-20 years of experience in planning, designing, permitting and construction of water resources projects. The position will lead to an increasing level of client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by our regional offices and firm-wide technical resources.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support, and/or carry out planning and design of water resources projects.
- Perform detailed technical engineering analysis.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Supervise, mentor, teach, and train staff.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on both regional and national levels.
- Lead and/or participate in business development activities that include client development, project pursuits, and project interviews
- Develop scope, schedule, and budget for successful pursuits.
- Help grow a local and regional team.
Required Qualifications:
- 8-20 years of experience in the Water Resources Field
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Experience in performing water resources management, analysis and planning in Idaho or the Intermountain west.
- Detailed understanding of local, state, and federal regulations.
- Experience managing interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs
- Experience in successfully delivering projects with collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
- Project management experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Self-starter with attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in all MS Office based computer software
- If an engineer, a PE license is required (ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment). Other technical tracks will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering or another related field
- Experience in client management/development in Idaho and/or the Pacific Northwest
- Experience in managing project pursuits
- Experience managing projects with fees of $2M or more
- Experience negotiating multiple contracts with clients
- Experience recruiting staff
