As a Test Engineer (Level 3), your work will ensure that high-performance computing (HPC) systems meet the rigorous standards required for today’s most complex missions. You will play a key role in the test and evaluation (T&E) lifecycle, applying technical expertise to design, execute, and assess system performance. Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include
  • Developing and executing detailed test plans and procedures aligned with program acquisition strategies and system requirements

  • Validating system requirements through functional and performance testing of HPC systems and REST APIs

  • Creating and analyzing complex database queries across multiple platforms to assess system output and performance

  • Automating testing and data analysis tasks using Bash and Python scripting

  • Participating in the T&E Working-level Integrated Product Teams (WIPTs) and Integrated Test Teams for coordinated planning and execution

  • Supporting the development of Government T&E documentation, including Test Readiness Reports, Evaluation Plans, and Analysis Plans

  • Executing test events and collecting performance data under a variety of operational conditions

  • Collaborating with systems engineering teams to align T&E efforts with system architecture and performance risk

  • Tracking defects and managing resolution through formal issue tracking processes

  • Ensuring test readiness, including instrumentation, environment setup, security compliance, and participant coordination

  • Driving innovation in test strategy, risk mitigation, and evaluation planning for continuously evolving system capabilities


Minimum Qualifications
  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and meet government clearance requirements

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline

    • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Test Engineer on programs of similar scope and complexity

    • OR additional 4 years of experience (totaling 12 years) may be substituted for a degree


Required Skills
  • Proficiency using Linux CLI and related tools

  • Strong experience writing and executing Bash and Python scripts for automation

  • Hands-on experience testing HPC systems and validating REST API integrations

  • Experience developing and executing formal test plans aligned with performance criteria

  • Demonstrated expertise in database query design for test result analysis

  • Experience with defect tracking, resolution processes, and test documentation

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, especially GitLab CI


Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

  • Familiarity with Splunk for data monitoring and analysis

  • Understanding of SAFe Agile principles and practices

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts and tools like Ansible

  • Proficient with Git for source control

Compensation Range: $134,000.00 - $177,000.00 

*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
