You will have the opportunity to design state-of-the-art substation protection and control projects tailored for electric utilities ranging from 12kV to 500kV. This is an exciting role that will immerse you in the evolving landscape of the power systems industry, especially in relation to renewable energy integration. Your proficiency in digital logic design and electrical circuit design will play a crucial role in your success. Work Arrangement: Candidates are expected to reside within the client servicing territory, specifically in the Framingham, MA area, for a hybrid work schedule (1-4 days in office). As a successful candidate, you can look forward to a fast-paced, diverse work environment with opportunities for flexible work arrangements, along with supportive management focused on career development, including: Engineer in Training Certificate (EIT) Professional Engineer License (PE) Project Management Professional (PMP) Technical & Non-Technical Training Opportunities Leadership Opportunities Mentorship & Training Opportunities A Chance to Lead and Inspire a Dynamic Team What You'll Gain Experience In: Interfacing with Local Clients Collaborating with Utility Clients Nationwide Handling Projects Across Various Voltage Levels Performing Electrical Power Calculations Engaging with Other Disciplines (Substation, Telecom, Civil Structural, etc.) Your Key Responsibilities: Design Relay One Line and Three Line AC Schematics Create DC Protection Schematics Design Panel Layouts and Wiring Schematics Develop Bill of Materials Based on Design Specifications Conduct Quality Control Checks on Wiring Designs Support the Complete Project Lifecycle from Scoping to Final Design and Implementation Provide Construction Support Ensure Compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code Work Alongside Client Standards for Effective Design Implementation Collaborate with Design/Drafting Teams to Produce Required Project Drawings Successful candidates will adhere to quality control and safety practices while ensuring compliance with project scope, timeline, and budget. You'll be a critical member of a multidisciplinary design team involving engineers, designers, and CAD technicians.
What Sets You Apart: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 8+ years of experience in Substation protection control design and/or field testing/commissioning Proven execution experience on substation protection and control projects Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients Ability to interpret and design substation protection and control drawings Proficient in meeting deadlines under pressure Strong team player with leadership capabilities Independent work ethic with minimal supervision required Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills High level of computer proficiency Willingness to travel for project and client site engagements Preferred Qualifications: Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) certification Professional Engineer (PE) License Experience in quality control for small substation protection and control projects Competency with CAD tools Master's degree in a relevant field Field testing/commissioning experience Who We Are: Leidos is a trusted rapid solutions provider in the technology space. PowerDelivery PDSSUBSTATION Pay Range: $104,650.00 - $189,175.00 This pay range acts as a guideline only and does not guarantee compensation or salary.
