Summary: Meta is on the lookout for a seasoned Software Engineer to join our dynamic Software Engineering (Infrastructure) team. As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining large distributed components that power Facebook. Our systems manage millions of requests per second with incredible efficiency, sub-second latency, and fault tolerance. We tackle challenges spanning data storage, server cluster synchronization, and runtime environments for front-end code. Key Responsibilities: Set and drive the team's goals and technical direction, focusing on enhancing efficiency across the organization. Communicate complex features and systems clearly and effectively. Stay informed about industry and company trends to evaluate and advance new technologies. Collaborate with organizational leaders to boost team and organizational performance. Identify and advocate for new opportunities and collaborate with decision-makers on staffing and prioritization. Lead the technical vision and roadmap for large, cross-company initiatives. Gather and synthesize requirements to create an actionable feature roadmap. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Over 12 years of coding experience in languages such as C, C++, Java, or C#. Proven experience leading impactful projects with industry-wide significance. Extensive experience in fostering communication and collaboration across functions to achieve solutions. A strong background in mentoring and influencing engineers throughout the organization. A demonstrated history of planning a multi-year roadmap with shorter-term initiatives aligned to a long-term vision. Experience driving engineering efforts that span multiple functions and industries. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with operating system internals, file systems, programming language design, or compilers. Compensation: $342,000/year to $403,000/year + benefits.
