Software Engineer Senior - .Net, WCF, C# and DevOps
Target start date - ASAP upon selection of desired candidate
Duration - Initial contract duration of 6 months (extensions of up to 2 years are possible)
Location - 100% remote at this time, but likely to change to hybrid in near future in downtown Seattle, WA in the future. Local greater Seattle area candidates are required.

Contract Pay Rate Range - $70-75/hr W2 - range assumes full benefits package selected
Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications and level of benefits selected etc.

CLIENT is seeking a senior-level .NET developer to provide ongoing operational and development support for two internally built applications.
Both applications are currently developed using an older version of the .NET Framework, WCF, C#, and hosted on Windows Server 2019. As these systems are mission-critical but nearing the end of their technical life, this contract will support operational stability while also assisting in RFP preparation and sunsetting planning for applications.
Scope of Work
This position will be responsible for:
Providing daily operational support for both applications
Implementing bug fixes and minor enhancements as needed
Participating in code reviews, peer reviews, regular team meetings, and providing weekly status updates
Maintaining and updating technical documentation
Maintaining functional documentation in partnership with the Analyst
Utilizing and maintaining source control (SVN) and versioning protocols
Maintain, configure, and deploy Team City projects
Create and maintain Reports
Supporting new annual implementation processes, reporting functions, and documentation.
Collaborating with business owners, analysts, developers, and DBAs to ensure alignment and quality
Participating in the development of Application RFP documentation
Participating in and documenting a comprehensive Application sunsetting plan, including
Data integration and migration strategy
Timeline and milestones
System and codebase documentation to support archival, future reference, or audit
New School Year annual transition
Providing knowledge transfer and ensuring complete handover of system knowledge
Deliverables Fully functional bug fixes and enhancements , implemented in a timely and high-quality manner
Weekly status reports outlining progress, blockers, and next steps
Complete and up-to-date technical documentation for both Applications
Well-developed RFP documentation to support procurement of a Application replacement
A clear and actionable Application sunsetting plan with supporting documentation
Knowledge transfer sessions and documentation to enable continuity beyond the contract term
Skill Requirements
Mandatory Minimum 7+ years of experience in .NET, WCF, C#, development
Strong understanding of software development life cycle and best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Expertise with:
C#, ASP.NET,MVC, WCF, Web Services
IIS 10.0 or above
.NET Framework and/or .NET Core
Entity Framework
SSRS reports
Proficient in writing complicated SQL queries, stored procedures and performance tuning
Team City project management, configuration, and deployment
Proven experience in maintaining and enhancing legacy systems
Proficiency in source control systems (e.g., SVN, Git, TFS)
Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Capable of summarizing and presenting complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to perform under pressure and manage tasks within tight timelines and high-stress environments
Integrating Web applications and services
Preferred Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, JQuery, React, Angular)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools
Prior work in regulated environments (e.g., education, government, healthcare, finance)
Exposure to or experience with ETL tools and processes
