We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to work on our Wi-Fi software solutions for products like the Echo and Fire TV. This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic, agile team that fosters a startup-like environment dedicated to enhancing connectivity experiences. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and enhance Wi-Fi and networking software for Amazon’s consumer products. Optimize Wi-Fi and network performance as well as power consumption for our connectivity platforms. Engage with vendors to integrate advanced Wi-Fi chipset solutions. Collaborate with other software teams to create unique features built on Wi-Fi for next-gen Amazon products. Provide technical assistance to Amazon Customer Support to troubleshoot customer issues. Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 5+ years of programming experience in at least one major programming language. 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture for new and existing systems. Experience as a mentor or tech lead within an engineering team. 4+ years of programming using modern languages such as Java, C++, or C# with a focus on object-oriented design. 3+ years of hands-on experience in delivering Wi-Fi based products. 3+ years of experience and knowledge about IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocols. 3+ years of experience with Wi-Fi development and debugging tools, such as protocol analyzers. Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience through the full software development life cycle, covering coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Master's degree in computer science or a related field. Experience with Wi-Fi solutions from major Wi-Fi chipset vendors. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common network protocols.
