What You'll Do
Responsible for planning, design, development, optimization, implementation and operational support activities for Server & Storage equipment
Escalation point of contact for offshore Wintel Operations personnel
Research new operational support technologies, tools, techniques and industry trends that may impact the organization
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvement opportunities where applicable
Maintain Network and Security Standards, Configuration Compliance, Patch management, Cert review, and Roadmap planning
Responsible for the 24x7x365 monitoring of all Wintel systems and escalations for client-side support
Participate/Drive bridge calls for critical issues impacting the business processes
Generate and review regular performance reports, monitor tickets, and ensure compliance
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities through automation and scripting
Provide implementation and support for server and storage equipment, including VMware vSphere, Dell OpenManage, VMware Horizon VDI, UPS devices, and more
What You'll Need
3 years experience as Operations Engineer required
Microsoft/VMWare certifications preferred
3 years of scripting experience using and managing server/storage monitoring tools (e.g. Powershell, VCenter, SCOM and others)
3 years of systems administration/design experience
Knowledge and experience in a large environment, including extensive hands-on experience with VMWare and Dell branded server hardware
3 years of experience in a large (>5,000 users, >100 Nodes), global environment
Demonstrated ability to lead and work in a global, multi-site, cross functional, matrixed organization
Requires little supervision, can work independently or in a collaborative team-oriented environment
Ability to handle multiple projects, assignments, priorities, and complete them on schedule
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as demonstrating effective listening and an ability to quickly learn in a dynamic environment
Exceptional customer service skills required
Accurate, accountable, dependable and detail oriented
Ability to think critically, quickly, and strategically
Able to remain calm in pressure situations and adapt quickly to change
Ability to work off business hours and weekends
Available for travel up to 25% of the time
Your Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field; or equivalent experience required.
