Senior Project Manager

Contract: 9 month contract+

Location: Detroit (3 days onsite)

Overview

This role is focused on hands‑on delivery and cross‑functional execution of the enterprise data governance framework and standards of care. The Senior Project Manager will drive policy adherence, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of governance outcomes across assigned business lines. The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise project management experience paired with practical data governance exposure, particularly in metadata, data lineage, and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Wave 2 execution across assigned business functions, coordinating plans, timelines, dependencies, and delivery milestones
  • Drive adoption of data governance framework components including RCSA controls, critical data element definitions, lineage diagrams, and data quality monitoring routines
  • Facilitate structured collaboration across business, data governance, risk, audit, and technology stakeholders
  • Track delivery progress against plan, identify blockers, and recommend mitigation actions with clear owners and due dates
  • Maintain RAID logs and perform root cause analysis for delays or quality issues, escalating as needed
  • Support data governance policy and standard adherence monitoring by ensuring teams understand and implement required processes and controls
  • Coordinate post execution QC testing and sampling routines and partner with quality teams to validate outcomes and remediate gaps
  • Produce concise weekly status reporting and execution updates for leadership and governance forums
  • Prepare executive ready materials including dashboards, risk committee updates, and regulatory coordination artifacts
  • Align execution with enterprise data governance program routines and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, risks, and controls

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project or program management experience in large enterprise environments
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams without direct authority
  • Experience supporting risk management practices including issue coordination, controls testing, and policy adherence monitoring
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate governance requirements into actionable plans
  • Proficiency with PM and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet or MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience delivering clear execution status updates
