We are on the lookout for a talented and experienced engineering lead/architect with a strong background in distributed systems. In your role as a Senior Principal Software Development Engineer on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace team , you'll set the technical direction for our marketplace platform. This involves architecture and design of the services where customers purchase pre-configured software installations across various platforms, addressing challenges from back-end services to e-commerce transactions. Key Responsibilities: Lead system design for major features and services. Mentor engineers and foster a collaborative work environment. Work closely with product managers and leadership to align technical direction with business goals. Develop high-quality code efficiently and improve adherence to testing protocols and deployment automation. Qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience. 8-10+ years of full-stack software development and operation of distributed services. Proven experience in architecture, functional reviews, and the product launch process. Hands-on experience building and managing entire systems and services. Strong proficiency in programming languages including Java, Python, Golang, and JavaScript. Expertise in REST API design and multi-tenant systems. Familiarity with browser UIs, TCP/IP, HTTP, and standard network architectures. Knowledge of databases, NoSQL systems, and distributed persistence technologies. Ability to lead multiple key projects simultaneously and offer technical leadership. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working Conditions: This role will require onsite presence in Nashville, TN (priority) or Austin, TX (secondary). Relocation assistance is provided. Compensation: The hiring range for this position is $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. Additional compensation may include bonuses, equity, and other benefits.
