Electrical Engineer Opportunity Kimley-Horn's Nashville, Tennessee (TN) office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join their Electrical Engineering team! Responsibilities Lead the design of electrical systems including water/waste water pump design, electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy, and backup generator systems. Responsible for electrical system calculations such as panel schedules, voltage drop, conductor sizing, conductor derating, conduit fill, and short circuit calculations. Responsible for the development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics, details, and one-line diagrams. Manage ongoing utility coordination to secure site power, communicate design load requirements, incorporate utility construction detail requirements into design drawings, maintain deliverable tracking spreadsheet, etc. Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices. Prepare project specifications, proposals, and support the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country. Expected to assist in mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand our Electrical Engineering practice. Qualifications 5+ years experience in an Electrical Engineering role. Professional Engineering license (or ability to obtain in 12 months). Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards. Willingness to travel to support site visits and client meetings, as needed. Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff. Preferred: Experience in engineering project management. Proficiency in AutoCAD.
