Senior Network Security Engineer The Senior Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the company's network security infrastructure across multiple physical sites. This role will also support the buildout and protection of new Operational Technology (OT) networks for manufacturing and research/development. The Engineer will perform hands-on configuration of firewalls, manage VLANs and network segmentation, maintain secure wireless networks, and implement access controls. They will respond to security alerts, investigate incidents, and apply remediations to minimize risk. Working closely with IT and operations teams, the Engineer will ensure network availability, enforce security policies, and deploy updates and patches in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with network hardware, resolving complex issues, and applying security best practices to both enterprise and OT environments. Responsibilities: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, and wireless access points across all sites. Implement and maintain network segmentation and VLAN configurations for security and performance. Support the design, deployment, and security hardening of new OT networks. Manage secure remote access solutions, including VPN and zero-trust technologies. Monitor network traffic and security events; respond to alerts and investigate anomalies. Perform regular updates, patches, and firmware upgrades for all network devices. Conduct periodic reviews of firewall rules, access controls, and network configurations. Work with IT, security, and technical teams to ensure high availability and resiliency of network services. Manage ISP and vendor relationships. Document network configurations, procedures, and incident responses. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in network administration or network security engineering. Hands-on experience configuring and managing enterprise firewalls, switches, wireless access points (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco/Meraki) Strong knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, and network segmentation. Experience with wireless network configuration and security best practices. Understanding of network security principles, intrusion detection/prevention, and threat mitigation. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues under time pressure. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for network and security visibility. Strong documentation and communication skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with OT network design and security. Familiarity with ICS/SCADA systems and related security standards (e.g., NIST 800-82, IEC 62443). Experience with NSM, IDS/IPS tools (e.g. Zeek, Snort, Surricata) Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and monitoring. Vendor certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CCNP Security, CWNP). Experience with network security in cloud-connected environments (AWS, Azure).
