At M2SC, we are looking for a senior-level network engineer to provide support for secure, mission-critical environments within the Department of Defense (DoD). As a Senior Network Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise LAN, MAN, and WAN transport infrastructure. Your work will ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and performance standards. We are seeking candidates with expert-level knowledge in secure network architecture, real-time troubleshooting, enterprise infrastructure modernization, and lifecycle support for both classified and unclassified network systems.

Job Description:
Design, implement, and manage complex, secure enterprise network architectures (LAN/WAN/BAN) in compliance with DoD and federal standards.
Configure and deploy Layer 2/3 network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.). Implement routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and ensure redundancy and high availability.
Apply cybersecurity best practices by integrating Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), encryption technologies (IPSec, SSL, TACLANE), and zero-trust principles into network configurations.
Perform routine and emergency troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance of enterprise and tactical network infrastructures to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Manage and maintain firewalls and VPNs; configure access control lists (ACLs), threat prevention settings, and Next-Gen Firewall features.
Maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, and inventory records. Ensure systems comply with DISA, NIST, and NSA standards, including audits and ATO processes.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and serve as SME for mission-critical networking issues. Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams.
Support the integration of cloud-based networks (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) within hybrid environments.
Lead network incident response and remediation efforts. Participate in configuration control boards (CCBs) and implement changes in accordance with ITIL or DoD change management procedures.
Support contingency operations, exercises, and on-call rotations to maintain network continuity for mission-critical DoD services.
Minimum Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship and active Top Secret clearance required.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related technical field.
Current CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) required at time of hire.
Must obtain CCNP (Enterprise or Security) within 6 months of contract start.
4+ years in enterprise IT network engineering in DoD classified environments.
2+ years in Layer-3 routing/switching, VLANs, IPSEC/SSL, firewalls, and TACLANE.
1+ year working with Next Generation Firewalls and DoD security protocols.
Familiarity with STIGs and NSA CSfC Capability Packages.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with DISA Trusted Network Environment (TNE) and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
Exposure to Mobile Access and Multi-Site Connectivity Capability Packages.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Availability to support 24/7 operations and participate in Command Post exercises.
Demonstrated teamwork, attention to detail, and mission focus in secure settings.
