Senior Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer Job Summary Hammond & Associates is an established 35+ year MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, & Fire Protections) consulting engineering firm headquartered in Plantation, Florida, with offices in Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, and Palm Beach. Our office comprises personable professionals committed to creating a respectful and pleasant working environment, with a focus on reasonable hours and quality results. This position is based in our Plantation Office. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience in HVAC and Plumbing Building Systems Design. Candidates must have experience specifically in MEP Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to provide team leadership and project management for all design aspects of assigned projects immediately. A strong understanding of Mechanical engineering principles and the ability to support a fast-paced department are essential. Candidates should have working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit. Job Responsibilities: Conduct kick-off meetings with design teams, clients, and owners to establish project scope. Perform site visits to assess existing conditions and document systems within scope. Manage projects from initiation through construction administration as needed. Communicate all necessary information for submissions and design deliverables to internal stakeholders. Maintain thorough knowledge of applicable building codes. Provide consultation on mechanical equipment room sizes during design. Produce and review HVAC load and energy calculations. Design HVAC ductwork layouts, sizing, and specify equipment. Review calculations and provide QA/QC oversight, mentoring team members. Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and resolve installation issues during construction. Draft, edit, and review specifications to meet project requirements. Develop scope of work narratives (basis of design). Attend meetings, communicate effectively with clients, and discuss design issues. Coordinate with other trades and disciplines. Meet all project deadlines. Qualifications: At least 10 years of Mechanical/Plumbing (MEP) design experience. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam. Professional Engineering (PE) License is required. Degree in engineering with a valid PE license. Self-motivated, quick learner, responsible, and willing to accept new challenges.
