You will be working under the guidance of the Director of Engineering and an independent engineer/inventor. All individuals working on the project will be working under non-disclosure and IP assignment agreements. A list of specific activities is provided. Development/maintenance of project schedule and cost estimates Detailed design of system parts and components Specification and procurement of parts and/or systems Contract design and procurement of controls and data acquisition systems, including controls/electrical panel design and fabrication Contract component and system fabrication services Develop testing procedure Perform testing on individual components and system Perform post-testing equipment inspection and data review Provide recommendations for future technology improvements You will primarily be working independently of the others in the engineering group, but you will be able to observe their activities and the culture of Maddox. If it is later decided to abandon further development of the gasification technology, Maddox will make every effort to find a new role for you within Maddox's core business activities. To minimize waste, we build our own tools to simplify and automate work whenever possible. These tools power our daily workflow and are essential in emergencies. When a hospital, factory, or city is crippled by a critical transformer failure, we respond swiftly. Maddox maintains a give-the-best/expect-the-best attitude. Our team is equipped with high-end laptops (mainly Apple), docks, and multiple external monitors. We employ cloud-based solutions that enable our team to work from anywhere. We design using Onshape, a refreshing cloud-native platform comparable to Solidworks. Experience & Education: We are seeking a candidate with exceptional aptitude, attitude, and ambition. Must have CAD and equipment design experience, be proficient with spreadsheets, and have a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Must have designed and built something of note (machine, mechanical systems, material handling, combustion systems, instrumentation, control systems, PLC systems, and electrical panels. Valued, but not required: Degree in engineering Project management Equipment and component procurement Chemical or combustion equipment design and troubleshooting Metal fabrication: CNC cutting, press brakes, or welding Basics: Full-time.
