Job Summary: We're looking for a personable experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-disciplined design team! The position will be within our Nashville office, assisting in Commercial and Federal projects. This individual must be very familiar with state-of-the-art design and various state and local regulations. Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise projects to ensure they meet commitments related to time, quality, and communication. Work directly with clients to establish project schedules and set expectations.
  • Assist market segment manager and team leader in manpower projections and scheduling of work.
  • Manage, direct and supervise mechanical engineering staff in the execution of specific projects to meet schedules and timely completion of projects. Schedule and lead mechanical production staff meetings.
  • Assist team leader in annual reviews of mechanical staff.
  • Assist market segment manager and team leader in maintaining and developing client base through various business development efforts.
  • Assist market segment manager and team leader in preparation of RFP type proposal responses including project write ups, resumes, etc.
  • Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per contract documents.
  • Checks all technical work for accuracy.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of an experienced team.
  • Take an active lead in proposal for work process. Identify prospective clients and work in conjunction with team leader to establish relationships with those clients.
  • Deal directly with clients/owners to determine specific project needs.
  • Be responsible for the total mechanical systems design for specific projects.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • P.E. in Mechanical Engineering preferred, not required 
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and detailed understanding of Revit is a plus.
  • 10+ years of design/engineering consulting experience.
