We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our New York, NY office.
In this role, you will serve as a Project Manager or Lead Mechanical Engineer on large-scale, complex building projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-performance mechanical systems and provide expert guidance to clients throughout all project phases.

Job Details
As a key member of the technical production team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems. This role involves developing drawings, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and related deliverables. Typical systems include HVAC, plumbing, control systems, medical gas infrastructure, process piping, and fire protection. Additionally, the Senior Mechanical Engineer oversees project management when assigned and contributes to firm-wide client relationship management efforts.
Essential Functions Contribute to project planning by actively participating in scope definition and fee development, including attendance at pre-proposal meetings. Develop mechanical design solutions informed by a strong understanding of industry standards and constructability best practices. Apply in-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards to ensure compliance and quality in all design work. Utilize industry-standard software such as Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and other relevant tools. Perform field investigations, energy audits, life cycle cost analyses, energy modeling, and cost estimation. Provide construction-phase support, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and managing design modifications. Lead, mentor, and support the development of junior staff.

Education and Experience
Required Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design of building-related mechanical systems.
Preferred LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) or equivalent sustainability certification. Certification in commissioning or demonstrated experience in building system commissioning.
