The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Senior Measurement and Diagnostics Manufacturing Technology Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Application and development of applied sensing and measurement technology to enable manufacturing asset performance improvements Provide sensing and measurement expertise to support manufacturing operations Support or lead process diagnosis efforts to resolve process variabilities and/or defects Improving global manufacturing processes that manufacture a wide breadth of 3M products Willingness to maintain flexible hours to support global manufacturing Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires ( at a minimum ) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a mechanical and/or electrical-focused engineering discipline from an accredited institution Four (4) years of combined experience in manufacturing and/or technology development in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Advanced degree in a mechanical-focused engineering discipline from an accredited university Proficiency with data acquisition software and data analytics methods (Labview, MATLAB, Python, CAD, etc) Knowledge of FFT, Cross Correlation, and/or Time-Synchronous-Averaging process analysis tools Evidence of strong, hands-on skills with multiple measurement tools (such as IR cameras, accelerometers, thickness gauges, etc.) and their application to manufacturing processes Experience with manufacturing processes such as roll-to-roll coating and/or film extrusion processes. Strong leadership, project management and influencing skills Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week) Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/international Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
