Through the Steer CRM suite, we allow the shop owner to get back to focusing on what matters, and to stop worrying about marketing and customer retention. Steer began as an online directory for drivers to find a local mechanic. Fast forward to today, Steer has launched a complete Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing suite, complete with text messaging, email automation, direct mail integration, reputation management, appointment reminders, declined/recommended services, and many other features. In August 2024 Steer acquired AutoOps - the leader in modern, intelligent, and fully integrated scheduling software for auto repair shops. AutoOps allows customers to smoothly schedule through a shop's website and Google Business Profile. About the Role We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to develop new products that expand Steers portfolio of technical solutions for the auto repair industry. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable, and secure web applications that both form the core and expand our CRM business. If you love to bring new ideas to life through code and relish solving complex technical challenges, this role is for you. This role can be hybrid out of our Waltham, MA office or remote. You Will: Technical Leadership : Define and drive the frontend architectural vision and strategy for Steer's products. Code Quality & Standards: Champion best practices in code quality, test automation (unit, integration, E2E), security, and maintainability. Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. System Design: Champion scalable and reusable frontend components and libraries that bridge between the design system and customer experience. Problem Solve Complex Challenges: Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack, often in a fast-paced production environment. Contribute to DevOps: Engage with our CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to ensure seamless deployments and operational efficiency. Ownership: Embody a you build it, you own it mindset across the stack, always seeking to understand new aspects of the system. You Have Must Have: 5+ years of professional development experience in a web-based SaaS role. Deep understanding and RESTful APIs and n-tier web applications. Proven experience with at least one major back-end language and framework (e.g., C#/.Net, Node.js/Express, Python/Django/Flask, Ruby on Rails). Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with their core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Azure App Services). Proven experience designing and implementing scalable and maintainable architecture Solid understanding and hands-on experience with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis). Ability to design efficient schemas, inspect and optimize ORM generated queries, and manage data migrations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers. Nice to Have: . Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Previous experience in a lead or mentoring role. Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
