As a professional in facilities engineering, you will lead critical initiatives in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to manage impactful projects that promote operational excellence and environmental responsibility. Your responsibilities may include: Leading the design, management, and optimization of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems for facilities and renovations. Developing conceptual designs, overseeing the development of detailed engineering plans, and specifications for mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems projects. Conducting/overseeing HVAC load calculations, airflow analyses, and electrical load assessments to optimize system performance. Performing feasibility assessments and risk mitigation planning for system installations or modifications. Assembling and overseeing project packages, including scope definition, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, construction management, and commissioning. You will also be responsible for leading energy efficiency efforts and implementing opportunities to reduce energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and water consumption. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter resource for energy-efficient technologies, equipment upgrades, HVAC system optimizations, and operational improvements. Project Management You will take ownership of high-priority projects, managing the full lifecycle from planning to execution. This will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including equipment vendors, mechanical and electrical contractors, to deliver projects on budget and schedule. You will provide clear, concise communication with senior leadership on project status, challenges, and results. Mentorship & Leadership You will mentor junior engineers, focusing on the development of technical skills and effective communication. You will emphasize collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless coordination across mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines. Developing leadership skills is key, with potential to manage one to two direct reports as/if the role evolves to meet business needs. Required Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution. A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience is required, with a strong background in HVAC, mechanical and electrical system design, energy efficiency, or building systems engineering, and project management. Experience with BMS, HVAC, and medium/low-voltage electrical systems is strongly preferred. Proficiency in industry standards and codes such as NFPA 70, 72, 101, IBC, and ASHRAE is essential. Demonstrated project management experience, with PMP certification preferred but not required. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical topics to non-technical audiences is crucial. ],
