Join our team as a Senior Engineer in New Product Development!
As a key member of the NPD Project Engineering team, you will:
Drive the successful completion of projects by fulfilling assigned tasks and collaborating effectively with team members.
Contribute to the development and management of project schedules and budgets.
Assist in fulfilling Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements with keen attention to detail.
Ensure that the system-level design requirements for Medium Voltage switchgear align with established specifications and standards, focusing on reducing variation and promoting error-proof assembly.
Create comprehensive engineering test plans for your design responsibilities.
Develop, construct, and test prototype components or assemblies as per the project's progress and needs.
Perform pre-test calculations and assist in reviewing test data against relevant calculations and standards.
Engage in engineering analysis tailored to the design of innovative new products and their subcomponents.
Identify troubleshooting opportunities and conduct root cause analyses for both new and existing products.
Document processes, material specifications, test results, and overall project activities clearly and effectively.
Collaborate with purchasing and vendor interactions for selecting and approving component parts and assemblies.
Provide engineering support to the Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing teams for new and existing products and processes.
Guide and mentor junior engineers, designers, and technicians as needed.
Maintain CAD databases and libraries according to established best practices.
Participate in engineering drawing reviews to ensure accuracy before manufacturing releases; responsible for final approval of applicable drawings.
Guarantee that chosen parts and processes align with project and company cost efficiency and reliability goals.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
We seek candidates who:
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Bring over 5 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or development, including:
Proven capabilities in 3D parametric modeling.
A track record of successfully navigating highly technical and complex projects, demonstrating a desire for new challenges.
Familiarity with the new product development Stage Gate Process.
Possess excellent communication skills with experience in preparing presentations and leading project meetings.
Have technical expertise in:
Motor operators, current and voltage sensing, grounding impacts, and power systems.
Proficiency in utilizing small hand and power tools.
Ability to write comprehensive technical documents, including test reports and engineering standards.
Capability to read and interpret technical standards.
Ideally, candidates will also have:
Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) - strongly preferred.
Familiarity with ProE/Creo and Finite Element Analysis.
Experience in medium/high voltage electrical power systems.
A history of creativity, innovation, and initiative; a self-starter eager to adopt new methodologies.
What we offer you:
Competitive pay ranging from $83,948 to $109,163 annually, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is eligible for the Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.
