About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Cloud Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of secure infrastructure across cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure. You'll collaborate with engineering, networking, and application teams to build secure, scalable environments and ensure compliance with modern security frameworks. This role is highly technical and requires a proactive contributor who thrives in fast-paced, hybrid cloud environments.

This is not a development-heavy position. It's a security-focused engineering role for someone who enjoys building, securing, and improving real systems at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure in both public and hybrid models (AWS, Azure)

Build automation to accelerate security deployment and governance

Integrate with SOC teams to enhance SIEM, SOAR, and XDR capabilities

Ensure compliance with security standards such as NIST, HIPAA, SOX, PCI, CMMC, and others

Lead incident response efforts and resolve configuration issues across dev, test, and prod environments

Document system configurations, incidents, and tool deployments for auditing and team knowledge sharing

Apply zero trust principles to design secure architectures

Occasionally travel for in-person collaboration or customer engagement, if needed

Required Skills

Five+ years of experience in information security and engineering

Deep understanding of AWS and/or Azure infrastructure and security practices

Hands-on experience with cloud security design, operations, and automation

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience documenting security environments, incidents, and configurations

Preferred Experience

Deployment and maintenance of cloud-based virtual firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto VM-Series in AWS/Azure)

Familiarity with tools such as Prisma Cloud, Forescout, Cisco Umbrella, F5

Experience supporting regulated environments or public sector clients

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Must hold at least one active AWS or Azure certification

Preferred Certifications:

CISSP

SC-100 (Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect)

AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Prisma Cloud Security Engineer

PCNSA or PCNSE
