Job title- Senior Data Engineer(Lakehouse) – Data Location- Nashville, TN – (Hybrid/Remote) Job type- Contract Contract Duration- 12 months
Introduction A Senior Data Engineer will develop, guide design efforts of new serverless solutions that seamlessly integrate the back-end processing within our Enterprise Systems. To be effective, the applicant must have an in-depth knowledge of design in modern programming languages web technologies, backend infrastructure databases, and AWS cloud services.
Required Skills and Experience 5+ years of AWS experience that includes Redshift and Aurora Postgres 7+ years with SQL database management, performance tuning and stored procedures in the following technologies: Aurora Postgress, Oracle, Redshift. 5+ years troubleshooting and resolving issues in SQL 5+ years of experience with modern database technologies and developing database applications on: AWS Node JS, Python, Chart JS, Lamda, CloudWatch. 3+ Years of AWS Serverless: PySpark, Glue, Step Function, Iceberg / Iceberg API, DynamoDB. 5+ years of experience with data integration from various sources (e.g., APIs, databases, streaming platforms) into a centralized enterprise application, data lake or warehouse 2+ years of experience with Cloud Security, DevOps, Containers 2+ years building and managing scalable data storage solutions using AWS services such as S3 2+ years of experience with data storage retrieval, performance, and cost efficiency optimization 2+ years of experience with monitoring data pipelines and infrastructure for performance, reliability, and scalability Advanced level skills implementing data security best practices, including encryption, IAM policies, and access controls Ability to collaborate with team members, Product Managers, subject matter experts, and other teams to refine requirements and translate into functional software using standardized coding techniques and conventions As an experienced member of the team, be willing and able to provide guidance to the team Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills Beginner+ understanding of development life cycle phases, CI/CD, DevOps, unit integration testing, documentation and solution delivery in cloud systems If in Nashville, the ability to adhere to a hybrid work schedule in Nashville, requiring typically 3 days per week in office but may vary based on business need Experience in transforming database code from one language to another with an emphasis on Oracle to Postgress
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
AWS Certification Experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming Experience with S3, EMR, Lambda, Athena, RDS and Kinesis Knowledge of data governance compliance and regulatory requirements Familiarity with big data tools like Hadoop, or Kafka Experience with CRM/Finance/Accounting systems Knowledge of dashboards and Dashboard platforms such as AWS QuickSight, Google Looker, Tableau, PowerBI Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
