Job Summary
: In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges. "This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” #LI-ML1
Major Responsibilities:
Level I Performs generally non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
Coordinates the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
Investigates the requirements for estimating and/or cost control data
Collects and classifies cost data
Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
Identifies cost trends for management attention
Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons Level II Responsible for cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill
Analyzes to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
Develops and implements project requirements for cost control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures
Ensures work is completed as scheduled, supporting project organizational and administrative activities
Reviews identified cost trends for cost effectiveness and suggesting alternatives when appropriate
Maintains open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities Education and Experience Requirements:
Level I Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience Level II Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Bechtel experience on Mega project required.
Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
Knowledge in supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present cost engineering and cost estimating products.
