Job Title: Senior Control Systems Verification Engineer

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid Schedule 3 days in-office)

Rolls‑Royce is looking for a Senior Control Systems Verification Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls‑Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of verification engineers through all aspects of the verification portion of the system engineering lifecycle and deliver control system verification evidence to airworthiness authorities.
  • Develop and implement verification strategies and plans, and lead a team to create and execute verification cases and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance, counsel, and direction to ensure verification deliverables meet appropriate standards and quality, and collaborate with a global engineering community to share best practice and lessons learned on process, tools, and technical solutions.
  • Assist with travel up to 20% between Rolls‑Royce sites and up to 10% other travel.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of product development engineering experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, OR
  • PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Requirements

  • 5+ years of system verification experience
  • Experience with requirements and configuration management
  • Application of agile development methods to deliver verification work products
  • Experience with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systems along with gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience
  • Demonstrated experience with control system design and analysis tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in development, integration, validation, and/or verification of systems
