Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/ Project Manager to support projects in the West Region . This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Berkeley office. Working on the Transportation team at GFT involves engaging in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and community connectivity. Our team specializes in resilient, sustainable design and construction for highways, bridges, traffic engineering, and more, ensuring safe and efficient multimodal roadway systems. Responsibilities This position involves civil engineering design for site development, utilities, rail, stormwater management, and road/trail projects. The candidate will lead multidiscipline projects and be responsible for pursuing and executing work in a collaborative, hybrid environment. Key Responsibilities Organize and develop project teams for technical studies, design, specifications, and inspections, delegating tasks as needed. Lead technical work, including conceptual design and construction documents using Microstation/Geopak/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Supervise junior staff and produce deliverables. Manage project scope, estimate manpower, prepare schedules, and track progress. Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants. Review designs for compliance with standards and specifications. Ensure quality control and quality assurance. Mentor junior staff. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of diverse project experience. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software like AutoCAD, MicroStation. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and diversity advocacy skills. Preferred Skills 8-15 years of transportation project experience. Design and construction administration experience. Project management skills. Excellent communication skills. Software expertise in Civil 3D, GeoPak/OpenRoads, Bluebeam. Ability to handle multiple projects and develop client proposals. Local candidates preferred; experience with federal projects is a plus. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $145,000 - $190,000, dependent on experience and location. Hybrid work environment.
