Senior Civil Design Engineer - Charlotte, NC Area

Pay Rate: ~ $40-50+/HR (Negotiable, DOE)
Location: Charlotte, NC 28262
Work Schedule: Day Shift (Overtime possible)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to independently manage and lead commercial land development projects. This is an excellent long-term career opportunity for someone with expertise in site design, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control, to contribute to large-scale projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop commercial land development projects (no residential work)
Handle all aspects of site design: layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion & sedimentation control
Collaborate with clients and team members throughout all project phases from schematic design to construction administration
Provide mentorship to junior staff as you grow into a potential leadership role
Ensure all designs meet current codes, guidelines, and best practices in stormwater management
Occasionally travel locally to project sites (minimal)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
~ 7-10 years of experience in site design (grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, etc.)
Proficient in Civil 3D and related design software
Knowledge of current codes, design guidelines, and stormwater management practices
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

PE License (Professional Engineer)
Experience in design-build and commercial development projects
Strong leadership potential for mentoring junior staff
