Senior Chartered Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer with over 7 years of professional experience, ideally with a proven track record leading project teams on small to medium scale developments. The ideal candidate will be either fully chartered or very close to achieving chartered status. You will take a leadership role in managing and coordinating an engineering team, overseeing resource allocation to meet timeframes and budget requirements. This role involves close collaboration with clients, local authorities, and third parties, as well as interfacing seamlessly with architectural teams. Reporting directly to company Directors, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality detailed design output and will take on the role of Assigned Certifier where required. Site inspections, participation in site meetings, and involvement in project bidding and tender processes will also form part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the engineering team effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, local authorities, architects, and other stakeholders.
Oversee the preparation of detailed design drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Undertake the Assigned Certifier role on relevant projects.
Conduct site inspections and attend site meetings as required.
Contribute to project bidding and tender submissions.
Mentor and support junior engineers to foster their professional growth.
Required Skills and Experience Chartered Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience, including project leadership on small to medium scale projects.
Strong design proficiency in multi-storey buildings using a variety of construction materials such as steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, and timber frame.
Competent in industry-standard engineering software, including TEDDS, Masterseries, PDS, Microdrainage/Flow, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, temporary works, and Irish Building Regulations, including BCAR compliance.
Experience working within ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams both internally and externally.
Flexible, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented approach.
Relevant engineering experience in Ireland or the UK is essential.
