What You'll Do:
Join our dynamic New England team as a Senior Bridge Design Engineer, where you'll tackle complex bridge projects and develop innovative, practical solutions for MassDOT, MBTA, CTDOT, and RIDOT. This role offers the opportunity to perform design and analysis, as well as other structural engineering tasks for bridge systems, all while enjoying a flexible hybrid remote work schedule. Responsibilities include:
- Innovative Design: Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations using Midas, AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating, STAAD, and other advanced software tools.
- Detail-Oriented Development: Create structural details and construction plans using MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Collaborative Review: Assist and check design calculations performed by others to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Comprehensive Planning: Prepare geometric layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare technical specification sections.
- Project Management: Provide input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior structural staff members, fostering their professional growth.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong connections with employees, clients, and other collaborators to achieve remarkable results.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (A relevant Master's degree is a plus!)
- 10-15+ years of relevant experience in bridge design and structural analysis
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Massachusetts
- Strong track record of leading bridge projects, meeting with clients, and providing technical expertise
- Proficiency using industry standard bridge design and analysis software, including MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with structural design software and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Familiarity with MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT, CTDOT standards for design, plan development and ratings is highly desired!
Compensation:
The approximate compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
