As a Senior Back End Software Engineer within our Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) team, you will play a key role in driving transformational change at Capital One. EPTech is responsible for many of our vital enterprise platforms, establishing best practices for technology solutions across the organization while delivering exceptional capabilities. Your Responsibilities: Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support comprehensive technical solutions using a full stack of development tools and technologies.

Stay informed on technology trends, experiment with new tools, participate in technology communities, and mentor fellow engineers.

Work closely with digital product managers to deliver powerful cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys.

Utilize programming languages including Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, as well as manage Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, and leverage Container Orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, along with various AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.

A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience (Internships do not count).

Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience with at least one programming language: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.

1+ years of experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

3+ years of experience using open source frameworks.

2+ years of experience working in Agile methodologies.

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. The salary range for this role is set according to location. For McLean, VA, the range is $158,600 - $181,000 for both Principal Associate Senior Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer roles. In Richmond, VA, the range is $144,200 - $164,600 for the same roles. Candidates in other locations will have salaries determined based on their specific locations. The actual salary offered will be detailed in the offer letter. Additionally, this role offers the opportunity for performance-based incentives, which may comprise cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
