We are seeking an experienced machine learning engineer to develop AI/ML solutions that will support the growth of DoorDash's Merchants. About the Role We are looking for a passionate Applied Machine Learning expert to join our team. You will utilize our data and machine learning infrastructure to create AI solutions that optimize Merchant menus, which are crucial for both Merchants and Consumers. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and evaluating AI/ML solutions. You should demonstrate strong expertise in production-level machine learning and collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams to lead strategy and mentor junior team members. Your Responsibilities Include: Applying computer vision, NLP, GenAI, entity resolution, and Deep Learning to enhance Consumer-facing Merchant menus. Collaborating with engineering and product leaders to develop the ML-driven product roadmap. Managing the entire modeling lifecycle, including feature creation, model development, deployment, experimentation, monitoring, explainability, and maintenance. Developing production ML solutions in batch and real-time to deliver an exceptional Merchant experience. Qualifications 5+ years of industry experience in developing impactful machine learning models and deploying solutions to production. MS or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Math, Operations Research, Physics, or related quantitative fields. Expertise in applied ML for computer vision, NLP, deep learning, embeddings, LLMs, with familiarity in experimentation and graph-based models. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong Python skills; experience with Spark, PyTorch, or TensorFlow. Familiarity with Kotlin/Scala is a plus. Passion for leveraging data and rigorous testing to drive ideas and demonstrate progress. Growth-minded, collaborative, and impact-driven mindset. Compensation The starting salary range for this role is between $119,100 and $252,400 USD, depending on location and experience.
