We are seeking resumes from experienced professionals who possess strong expertise in Linux environments and SQL database management. The ideal candidate will have the capability to support, maintain, and enhance automation scripts, benefiting from 5 to 8 years of experience in application support. Proficiency in creating and troubleshooting automation scripts (using Python and PowerShell), crafting efficient SQL queries, and performing tasks such as patching support, service resets, performance optimization, and robust backup and recovery operations is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot applications and automation developed using Java, hosted on Linux-based servers (including web, application, and database servers).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts utilizing Python and PowerShell.
- Install and configure software applications.
- Monitor system performance and promptly troubleshoot any identified issues.
- Conduct application deployments and execute disaster recovery operations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation.
- Monitor and analyze system logs to ensure optimal operation.
- Coordinate activities with component support teams (e.g., Database, Voice/Data Network, and Storage) to address and resolve issues.
- Utilize the organization’s ticketing system to manage incident tickets (e.g., entering, updating, and closing).
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams and vendors as necessary.
- Perform routine housekeeping functions on system infrastructure (such as health checks), monitor Splunk dashboards, and manage email alerts for new issues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address critical issues as they arise.
Core Competencies:
- 5-8 years of relevant application support experience, particularly revolving around technologies such as Java and SQL.
- Advanced proficiency in Java programming, SQL database queries, and automation scripting (Python and PowerShell).
- Excellent skills in incident management, ticketing protocols, and providing end-user support services.
- Strong communication abilities to articulate issues, escalate appropriately, and describe impacts to users and leadership.
- Familiarity and proficiency with MS tools for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Competence in interpreting Splunk dashboard data and initiating corrective actions.
- Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Industry-recognized certifications in Linux, Java, SQL, Python, and PowerShell are highly recommended.
