Job Title: Senior Application Developer/Engineer/Programmer Location: Washington, DC Type: Contract
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise-level software solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development lifecycles, application design, and technical leadership within client-server and/or web-based environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and study complex system requirements.
Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analysis; oversee their implementation.
Lead software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, CASE tools, and other design techniques.
Estimate development timelines and resource requirements.
Review, refine, and enhance existing programs to reduce runtime and improve performance.
Manage software configuration control and deployment activities.
Analyze functional business applications and translate them into technical specifications.
Develop block diagrams, logic flow charts, and detailed software designs.
Translate designs into high-quality, maintainable software code.
Perform thorough testing and debugging of applications.
Prepare comprehensive documentation at both the program and user levels.
Enhance software functionality and performance.
Provide technical leadership to developers, ensuring alignment with project schedules and goals.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of software development experience aligned with formal SDLC methodologies.
Proven expertise in application design and system analysis.
Experience with client-server and/or web-based application development using relevant modern technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in relational database development or administration.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
