Peloton Interactive, Inc. seeks Senior Android Engineer in New York, NY: Job Duties: Lead and implement technology initiatives that impact the broader engineering team. Investigate from scratch and participate in meetings with company-wide engineers to determine existing problems, and brainstorm to understand pain-points. Create projected delivery times for the work so decision makers can make valid road maps. Ensure work is achievable in a stream-line method and no blocking is present as the team progresses towards the deadline. Document existing systems and support documentation for migration to new practices. Maintain critical documentation to ensure proper record-keeping for Peloton’s proprietary codebase for later reference and knowledge sharing. Document all new pieces of work to improve visibility for future changes. Add to existing documentation to enable other engineers to build and further develop internal developer resources. Create technical on-boarding documents for newer developers. Manage contractors involved in technology initiatives. Participate in weekly syncs/check-ins with contractors working on tech initiatives. Assist contractors in completing their work where possible, aiming to improve their autonomy on tasks, educating them on Peloton’s proprietary systems to improve their efficiency and pairing with them to resolve issues. Write documentation and participate in meetings to share findings and answer questions from peers. Use expertise working closely with the architecture tasks within Peloton’s codebase to serve as a point of contact for peers when challenges/questions arise around introducing new features and product requirements. Support fellow engineers on complex architecture issues. Work closely with peers to unblock their work or provide advice on solutions to achieve their goals. Review the work of other engineers to ensure adherence with best practices. Review pull requests from other engineers. Investigate and mitigate critical issues that occur in production. Serve as a member of the on-call rotation team, providing as-needed support for Peloton’s proprietary system. Observe production performance across domains to ensure there no degradation as new changes are implemented. Be proactive in mitigating and resolving any issues that may arise by planning in advance. Increase observability of analytics to enable informed data driven decisions on technology initiatives. Work to improve data collation in critical areas. Enhance observability metrics in the codebase along with building analytics dashboards that can be used throughout the company. Monitor and analyze dashboards to see if existing performances are functioning properly, or to aid in decision making related to improvements. Telecommuting is an option.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Material Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.
Special Skill Requirements: (1) Android (one year); (2) Rx; (3) Kotlin (one year); (4) Java; (5) Coroutines; (6) Clean Architecture; (7) MVVM; (8) Dagger2; (9) Mockito; (10) Espresso. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option.
Salary: $173,478.00 - $234,196.00 per annum.
