Our client is a global leader in the chemical industry, known for its sustainability focus, diverse product portfolio, and strategic global presence. They have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Advanced Process Control Engineer with extensive experience in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Advanced Process Control (APC). The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience and will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced control strategies for our clients' complex industrial processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced process control strategies using state-of-the-art technologies such as Model Predictive Control (MPC), Fuzzy Logic Control, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning-based control systems.
  • Lead the configuration, tuning, and commissioning of Honeywell RMPCT systems for various industrial applications.
  • Analyze existing control systems and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, stability, and overall performance.
  • Conduct detailed process studies and develop dynamic models of industrial processes using first-principles modeling and data-driven approaches.
  • Perform controller performance monitoring and optimization to ensure sustained benefits from APC implementations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including process engineers, instrumentation specialists, and operations personnel to integrate APC solutions with existing control systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers in the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in process control technologies and industry best practices, and incorporate them into our solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for APC projects, including functional specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Conduct training sessions for clients' personnel on the operation and maintenance of implemented APC systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex control system issues and provide timely solutions to minimize process disruptions.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively.
  • Contribute to the development of new APC products and services to expand our company's offerings.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in advanced process control, with a strong focus on DCS, and APC technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of process control theory, including PID control, model predictive control, and multivariable control strategies.
  • Experience in Honeywell RMPCT or Aspen DMCplus and or DMC3 configuration, tuning, and optimization.
  • Experience in DCS (Preferred Emerson DeltaV or Foxboro I/A). Other DCS will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of industrial processes in sectors such as refining, petrochemicals, or continuous manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar tools used in process control applications.
  • Experience with process simulation software like Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with OPC standards and integration of control systems with plant information systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in complex technical environments.
  • Strong communication.
