The Division of Transportation System Development, SouthWest Region is seeking a Scoping Engineer (Civil Engineer Transportation Senior or Advanced). This position can be headquartered in our LaCrosse or Madison Wisconsin office.

This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DTSD Madison or LaCrosse, WI offices at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary

This position performs engineering functions in the analysis and preliminary design of highway improvement projects. Positions at this level have extensive authority in carrying out their assigned responsibilities independently. This position will provide administration and direction of the region's scoping of the Southwest Region 6-year State Trunk Highway Improvement Program and determine other long-range highway improvement needs. This position provides engineering analysis for development of highway safety programs and bridge improvement programs and the development of local cost share agreements.

Salary Information

The Senior level position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $80,870 - $99,403 depending upon qualifications and experience.

The Advanced level position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $90,064 - $108,950 depending on qualifications and experience. The Advanced level also receives up to an additional $2,080/year for having your Professional Engineering license.

WisDOT also offers excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
