SCADA Engineer

A client is seeking a SCADA Engineer for a contract position that can sit in Louisville, KY or Lexington, KY. This engineer will assist with updating the SCADA systems and primarily work on the automating these tasks. When projects are assigned to the group, they will get information on what is occurring at the substation and the RTU upgrade status. This engineer will partner with field technicians to complete upgrades to the physical devices and will configure settings which may require maintenance on the devices. An ideal candidate will be able to configure RTUs and has past utility experience. The preferred location to fill this role is in Louisville, KY but if there is an experienced candidate, they may have flexibility to sit in Lexington, KY which is where the lab is based.

Skills and Requirements
3+ years of experience configuring, implementing and automating RTUs and relays within SCADA architecture
Experience programming SEL and Eaton relays, RTUs, Gateways or similar smart grid devices
Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field Utility experience
IT Networking background
Knowledge of substation equipment, protection relays, and communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850).
Familiarity with power system operations, transmission networks, and grid control.
