Biomedical Device Consultants & Laboratories (www.bdclabs.com) is a fast-growing company that offers comprehensive medical device testing services, designs verification test equipment, and produces silicone mock vessels to the medical device community in support of domestic and international regulatory submissions and approvals. Our primary focus is cardiovascular technologies such as endovascular stents, prosthetic heart valves, and catheters. What would you do as a Sales Engineer

As a Full Time Sales Engineer at BDC Laboratories, your mission is to decode customer needs while making the magic of our testing services come alive! You'll engage in pre-sales technical assistance, diving into the intricacies of ASTM and ISO standards to educate clients about our innovative offerings. Your role involves showcasing our full spectrum of testing services, articulating the unique advantages tailored to our customers. You'll create impactful quotes and budgets that not only drive sales but also enhance profitability.

Collaborating closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing, you'll forge and nurture relationships, ensuring our clients feel supported on every project. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field, paired with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a technical sales environment, lays the groundwork for success. Your ability to read, understand, and articulate complex technical documents will be crucial, especially with quality system requirements like ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 under your belt. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills will help you navigate the intricacies of customer communication. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to effectively present information, will make you an invaluable asset in client interactions.

Proficiency in a Windows environment, particularly Word and Excel, is a must, as is a solid understanding of the medical device product development life cycle. Bring your passion for innovation and customer focus—success awaits!

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific (physics, chemistry, or similar) or engineering field and general sales experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a technical field including sales or customer communication. Experience working directly with engineers is a plus.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate technical documents.
  • Understanding of quality system requirements; ISO 17025 and/or ISO 9001 experience is desirable.
  • Must be organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities strong verbal and writing skills and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to identify and communicate the value of company products and services.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the medical device product development life cycle is a plus.
  • Proficiency with a Windows environment(Word and Excel) required.
