Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive sales initiatives by actively selling machining products and services within the assigned territory.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets across multiple time frames.
- Engage with clients and potential customers through a balanced combination of in-person visits and virtual meetings.
- Develop new business relationships and diligently follow up on all leads and sales inquiries.
- Analyze changes within the territory to seize growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Educate customers on how our services can meet their needs, addressing both expressed and unexpressed concerns.
- Represent the company in trade shows and perform service calls as necessary.
- Resolve customer issues with professionalism, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage the sales pipeline and ensure accurate sales forecasting.
- Generate leads, make cold calls, and maintain a proactive approach in customer relationship management.
- Analyze and document the reasons behind lost quotes and adjust strategies accordingly.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or substantial industry-related experience.
- At least 3-5 years of technical or industrial sales experience, preferably within the machining sector.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays and some long-distance travel.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, and remain on feet for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or certifications relevant to sales and marketing or mechanical engineering.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in a customer-facing role within the machining or manufacturing industry.
- Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales techniques.
