Seametrics focuses on water flow management, manufacturing electromagnetic and mechanical flow meters, as well as environmental sensors for fluid measurement.

Position Overview:
This is a remote position with 50% travel; candidates on the west coast preferred.
The Sales Engineer (SE) is a customer-facing role that leans heavily into sales and account management, with a strong foundation in technical understanding. This individual will manage a portfolio of direct industrial accounts, drive new business development, and act as a trusted advisor to customers. The SE will work closely with catalog houses, OEMs, engineering firms, and end-users to promote Seametrics products, build customer loyalty, and expand our market presence. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives in a consultative sales environment and is comfortable traveling to engage with customers across the U.S.
The SE is expected to become a technical expert on the product through training while also understanding how customers use the products in the field and the value they expect to gain from the product. As an expert in the field, the SE provides most training to their respective accounts while searching for new opportunities within legacy business and new accounts. New accounts with an appropriate business case will fall under SE while others will be rolled into the current distribution network.
The SE serves as the eyes and ears of Seametrics in the field. Industry trends, customer trends, and competitive information are all valuable to the company and must be communicated. Working effectively with the inside staff, sales managers, and the balance of the Seametrics staff is essential to success. In addition, the SE may become involved in high profile field service either in a direct or supporting role.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Through training, consistent communication, and travel, develops and manages the responsible accounts across the US to increasingly higher levels of sales
- Jointly develops and executes business plans with accounts
- Builds customer satisfaction
- Account managers are product and application experts. New applications are communicated through the organization
- Works effectively with the factory to make sure customer needs are being met
- Maintains standard Seametrics price and discount levels within the assigned territories and makes suggestions for special offers where necessary to secure highly competitive or strategic business
- Supports national and regional trade shows and factory training events. Identifies additional relevant trade show opportunities.
- Provides direct support for high profile projects and technical service issues as required
- Maintains up to date reporting of sales activities and status of large projects through the CRM system. Accurately forecast revenue and outlook for responsible accounts
- Provides feedback to management regarding industry trends and customers’ requirements. Active in organizations that specifically support primary industries
- Provides market intelligence in the form of trip reports
- Stays current on competitors’ offerings and contributes to competitive analysis by product
- Provides meaningful input on the overall company sales strategy, product development and marketing
- With a business case, acknowledges and acts on special, non-standard product ideas
Qualifications:
- The SE is most valuable when working with the responsible accounts and OEMs to develop sales and find new opportunities. As a result, frequent travel is required.
- High energy, ability to work independently.
- BS or BA degree. A BS in an engineering discipline is preferred. Additional education in marketing and business is also preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial sales, engineering, service, or marketing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Inside hire: 4+ years in customer related positions such as Application Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, or Technical Support are typical paths.
- If hired from outside: 5+ years experience in an outside sales management role in a technical, consultative selling environment. Experience managing customers with an emphasis on achieving high growth. Experience in the applicable markets is a big plus but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP software packages
- Ability to grasp complex concepts easily
- Excellent planning, negotiating, and organizing skills
- Ability to motivate co-workers, colleagues, and others
